The First Person To Expect Love From Is Yourself

“You can’t expect to draw people into your life who are kind, confident, and generous if you’re thinking and acting in cruel, weak, and selfish ways. You must be what it is that you’re seeking- that is, you need to put forth what you want to attract.” - Wayne Dyer

What is love? When I talk about love, I am not only referring to romantic love, but to all kinds of love. Love for your friends, love for your co-workers, love for your family, love for your neighbors, love for those who act the way you want them to and love for those who act in way that you don’t always agree… all kinds of love.
Is there enough love in the world at the moment? Or should I ask, is there enough love in your world at the moment, in your life? People will often answer no to that question, there is not enough love, not in the world, not in their world and not in their own life and they will often blame some outside forces for this shortage of love.
What I have learned over the years is that you can’t rely on love coming from other sources, somewhere outside of you, you can’t expect love to be given to you in order for you to feel it, you rather have to feel that love yourself.
Most of us believe we need a certain person or we need a specific thing to happen in order for us to feel loved and loving but is that really the case? If we act like there is nothing we can do and if we are constantly waiting for something outside of us to provide love to us, are we ever going to be happy?
If we want love, we might want to pause for a second and question our own way of thinking, question our own beliefs and past conditioning because our life is based on these beliefs and will continue to do so unless we decide to get rid of some of those beliefs.
What are your beliefs when it comes to love? Who are you expecting to give you love? What do you expect to happen so you can be loved?
Do you love yourself as much as you would want to be loved? Think about this question for a while and be sincere with yourself. The moment you realize that you were looking for love in all the wrong places and the moment you realize that you weren’t even giving yourself the love you were expecting from others, that will be the moment your beliefs about love will change and that will be the moment your life will start to change.
“Do you want to meet the love of your life? Look in the mirror.”  Byron Katie.
You will start working on building and acceptng the person that is you and you will get to a point where you become euphoric because of the amount of love you have for yourself and not only. More and more people will be attracted by you and your amazing energy and they will want to have what you have, for like attracts like.
“You must love yourself before you love another. By accepting yourself and fully being what you are, your simple presence can make others happy.”
In time you will realize that the more love you have for yourself, the more love you will receive from those around you, and what can be more beautiful and fulfilling than living a life that is full of love?
